About Royal King Seeds Ireland
A seed shop for Irish growers, and honest about what it is
Royal King Seeds supplies 1,677 cannabis seed varieties to growers across Ireland. We did not breed them โ they come from established seed houses whose work we stock, catalogue and ship. What we add is a catalogue organised the way people here actually shop, strain data we are willing to stand behind, and growing guidance written for a short season that ends in the wet.
What we actually are
We are a retailer. Every strain here was bred by someone else, most of them by seed houses with decades behind them, and our job is to get that genetics to your door with the packaging discreet and the description accurate.
That is a less impressive story than an in-house breeding programme, and it is the true one. It also sets a useful limit on what we are entitled to tell you: we can report what a breeder published about a strain and what growers consistently report back, and we cannot claim laboratory results we never commissioned or a stabilisation history we did not run.
Orders ship in plain, unbranded packaging with tracking, to addresses in all 26 counties. Prices are in euro with VAT included and no card surcharge, so the price on the shelf is the price at checkout. See shipping and delivery for timings, or the FAQ for the questions we get most.
How we handle strain information
Four rules, mostly about what we will not do.
We source, we do not breed
The genetics in this catalogue were bred by established seed houses โ the names behind the classics and the modern dessert lines alike. Where we know which breeder originated a strain, the strain page says so. We are the shop, not the breeding programme, and telling you otherwise would make every other claim on this site worth less.
A blank field beats an invented one
Flowering time, height, yield and THC come from the breeder or a published reference. Where no figure exists we leave the field empty rather than filling it with a plausible-looking range. That is why some strain pages carry less data than others โ the gaps are real, and hiding them would only cost you a season.
A guarantee, not a lab result
We guarantee 95% germination and replace anything that falls short โ same strain, same pack size, free of charge. That is a promise we honour, not a measurement we are reporting, and the difference matters: we will not quote you a lab result or a certificate of analysis, because we commissioned neither. What decides your outcome is method โ damp paper towel at around 22ยฐC, kept dark, never allowed to dry out, and a full week before you call it.
Written for this country, not converted to it
Our growing content is written for growing at 51 to 55 degrees north โ plant out at the end of May, harvest by early October, and plan around rain arriving on the flowering window rather than heat. Most cannabis growing advice online assumes a longer, drier season than Ireland has, and quietly takes for granted that an October harvest is safe. Here it is not.
Why an Irish catalogue looks different
Ireland is close to one growing climate the whole way across, which is unusual and worth saying plainly rather than dressing up as regional variety. It is temperate oceanic from Malin Head to Mizen Head: mild, wet, windy, and with a usable outdoor season that runs from the end of May to the start of October. What varies is a gradient โ around 750ย mm of rain a year on the east coast against well over 1,200ย mm on the Atlantic seaboard. The constraint on an outdoor grow here is almost never heat and almost never cold. It is whether the plant can finish before the autumn rain sets in.
That changes what is worth stocking. There is nowhere in this country where flowering falls in a dry season, so mould resistance and open bud structure matter more here than a headline THC figure โ botrytis, not cold, is what takes an Irish outdoor crop. And because the season is short at both ends, days to finish is the field worth reading first, which is why autoflowering seeds and autoflowering indicas carry so much of this catalogue.
If you would rather not work through 1,677 options, the strain finder narrows it by space, experience and region in under a minute, and the growing guides cover the parts of a season that catch people out here.
One thing we will not do
Seeds are sold as adult collectibles and for genetic preservation. We do not tell you what the law permits where you live. That varies, it changes, and getting it wrong is your risk to carry, not ours to guess at โ so knowing what applies to you before you order is your responsibility. Nothing on this site is legal advice. The legal notice sets this out in full.
