Common Questions from Irish Growers

Seeds & Cultivation
What distinguishes feminised seeds from autoflowering varieties?
Feminised seeds produce female plants and flower when the daily dark period passes about twelve hours โ indoors you flip the timer, outdoors the shortening autumn light does it for you. Autoflowers ignore daylight and bloom on age, finishing eight to ten weeks from sprout. In Ireland that difference decides more than it does elsewhere: the autumn weather sets the deadline, not your preference, so an autoflower started at the end of May is harvested in August while a photoperiod that flipped on the natural daylength is still filling out into a wet October. Under cover, a photoperiod has the room to run.
How should I keep my seeds viable over time?
An airtight jar in the fridge, kept dark and dry, holds viability for years. The part that catches people out here is humidity rather than temperature: most of Ireland sits well above the moisture level seeds like, so a silica sachet in the jar earns its place, and taking the jar out to warm to room temperature before opening stops condensation forming on cold seeds.
Do you back your seeds with a germination promise?
We guarantee 95% germination and replace anything that falls short โ same strain, same pack size, free of charge. Germinate using the method in our guide, then email us within 30 days of your parcel arriving with the order reference and a photo of the attempt. Damp paper towel at room temperature is what we test against; a cold Irish room in March will stall a seed that was perfectly viable, so the photo is there to tell those two cases apart rather than to catch anyone out.
Can I get growing tips from your team?
Yes. Our growing guides are written for growing at 51 to 55 degrees north โ plant out at the end of May, harvest by early October, and plan around rain in the flowering weeks rather than heat. Most cannabis advice online is written for a longer, drier season and quietly assumes an October harvest is safe, which it is not here. If you tell us your region and whether you are indoors or out, we will narrow the catalogue for you.
Which strains handle an Irish summer best?
Heat is rarely the question here โ damp is. An Irish summer is mild and humid rather than hot, so the varieties that do well are the ones that can flower through wet, dull weeks without rotting: open bud structure, mould resistance and a short finish, in that order. It varies by degree across the country. In the eastern counties, the driest and brightest part of Ireland, a moderate photoperiod is a fair bet outdoors. On the Atlantic seaboard, where the rain is double and the wind constant, a fast autoflower under cover is the realistic answer rather than a compromise.
Delivery & Dispatch
Which parts of Ireland do you deliver to?
All 26 counties of the Republic โ Donegal as readily as Dublin, Kerry as readily as Louth. The offshore islands run a few days behind the mainland and are the one declared exception to our stated transit window. Every parcel goes out in plain, unbranded packaging that says nothing about the contents.
What are your delivery timeframes?
Orders are processed and dispatched within 1-2 business days. Tracked delivery typically takes between 2-4 business days, depending on your location. A tracking reference is emailed with every order so you can follow your parcel.
Do you offer complimentary shipping?
Yes โ all orders totalling โฌ80 or more ship free of charge. For orders below that threshold, a flat delivery fee of โฌ5.95 applies nationwide.
How private is the packaging?
Nothing on the outside says what is inside. Plain satchel, no logo, no product description, no mention of seeds or of Royal King Seeds โ the sender line and the courier label are all anyone sees, including whoever signs for it at a pickup point or a shared postbox.
Purchases & Payments
What is the ordering process?
Pick your strains and pack sizes, then check out with an Irish delivery address โ that is the only country we ship to, so the dropdown lists the 26 counties and nothing else. A confirmation email lands straight away, and a tracking reference follows when the parcel leaves us.
Which payment options are available?
Visa and Mastercard, and major cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin and Ethereum where that option is showing at checkout. Prices are charged in euro, so the figure on the product page is the figure you pay โ no conversion applied afterwards. Card details move over an encrypted connection and are handled by the payment provider, not stored by us.
Is it possible to amend or cancel a placed order?
Email support@royalkingseeds.ie within 2 hours and we will almost always catch it. After that the order has usually been picked and packed, and at that point the honest answer is that a change means waiting for the parcel to arrive and sorting it out from there.
Are volume discounts available for larger orders?
The per-seed price drops as the pack size goes up, so a 10-seed or 20-seed pack costs less per seed than a 3-seed pack of the same strain. Both are listed on every product page. For anything larger than the packs we list, email us and we will quote it.
Irish Law & Privacy
What is your position on the law?
Seeds are sold as adult collectibles and for genetic preservation. We do not state what the law permits where you live โ that differs by country and changes over time, and it is your responsibility to know what applies to you and to stay within it before ordering. Nothing here is legal advice.
How do you protect my personal data?
Your details travel over an encrypted connection and are not sold or passed to anyone outside the people who need them to get your parcel to you. Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, and complain to the Data Protection Commission if we get it wrong; our Privacy Policy sets out how, and where to take a complaint if you are not satisfied with our answer.
Is there an age requirement for placing an order?
You must be 18 or over to order, or older if that is the threshold where you live.
