Privacy Policy

Effective from: March 2026

Royal King Seeds (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to handling your personal information responsibly and transparently. This policy describes our data collection, usage, and protection practices and has been prepared in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the Data Protection Act 2018, and with the principles for lawful processing they set out. Ireland’s supervisory authority is the Data Protection Commission.

What Personal Information We Gather

When you interact with our website or place an order, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identity details: your name and email address, provided during checkout or when you contact us.
  • Delivery details: your postal address, supplied so we can dispatch and track your order.
  • Transaction details: payment card type and last four digits (full card numbers are never stored on our servers — they are handled exclusively by PCI-DSS-compliant payment processors).
  • Technical data: your IP address and browser type, processed when you place an order or contact us, and in our server logs for security and fraud prevention. We do not run any third-party analytics or advertising tools on this site — no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, and no third-party trackers of any kind.

Purpose of Data Collection

Your information is used for the following purposes:

  • Processing and fulfilling your orders, including generating shipping labels and tracking numbers.
  • Communicating dispatch updates, delivery confirmations, and responding to support enquiries.
  • Improving our website functionality, product range, and overall customer experience through aggregated analytics.
  • Complying with applicable Irish legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Data Security Measures

We protect your information through industry-standard security controls:

  • TLS/SSL encryption on all data transmitted between your browser and our servers.
  • Payment handling delegated to PCI-DSS-compliant processors — we never store complete card details.
  • Access to personal data restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.
  • Regular security reviews and software updates to our hosting environment.

Cookies & Local Storage

This site sets no cookies at all, and loads no third-party scripts. What it does use is your browser’s local storage, on your own device, for three things that make the site work: your shopping cart, your saved strains, and remembering that you have confirmed your age so you are not asked on every page.

None of that is shared with anyone, and none of it is used to profile you or to follow you between sites. It is stored on your device rather than ours, and clearing your browser data removes it. Because it is strictly necessary for features you have asked for, it does not require consent under Regulation 5 of the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011.

If we ever add analytics, we will ask you first. That is not a courtesy — storing a non-essential identifier on your device without consent is not permitted, whether it is a cookie or not.

Your Rights Under the GDPR

Ireland is a member state of the European Union, so the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) applies directly, and the Data Protection Act 2018 gives it effect in Irish law. As a data subject you have the following rights over your personal data:

  • Access (Article 15): You may request confirmation of whether we process personal data about you, a copy of that data, and information about how and why we use it.
  • Rectification (Article 16): You may ask us to correct personal data that is inaccurate, and to complete data that is incomplete.
  • Erasure (Article 17): You may ask us to delete your personal data where we no longer have grounds to keep it. This is not absolute — see Data Retention below.
  • Restriction and objection (Articles 18 and 21): You may ask us to restrict processing, or object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests.
  • Portability (Article 20): You may ask for the data you gave us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Direct marketing (Article 21(2)): You may object to direct marketing at any time, and we must stop. There is no balancing test on this one.
  • Complaints: If you believe we have breached your data protection rights, you may complain to us or to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland's supervisory authority, at dataprotection.ie.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@royalkingseeds.ie.

Data Retention

We retain order-related data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil our obligations and comply with Irish tax and record-keeping requirements. You may request deletion of your account data at any time, subject to legal retention obligations.
