Acapulco Gold Auto

Does Acapulco Gold finish outdoors in Ireland? It does, planted out at the end of May and cut by early October. At 20/70 it will want height, and height outdoors here means wind. Stake it earlier than you think you need to. Bloom takes 8-10 weeks seed to harvest, so the harvest date is set by the calendar far more than by your technique.

What should I expect to take off it? 400-450 g/m2 indoors and 500-600 g/plant outdoors are the published figures, and both assume a full light or a full season plus a root run to match. A tunnel gets you most of the way to the outdoor number; a windowsill will not. At 20% THC the effort is well spent either way.

Is it a sensible first grow? Reasonably. Anyone who has finished one grow will manage this one; it asks for consistency rather than expertise.

Soil or coco? Coco with fertigation at EC 1.4-1.8 through bloom if you are there daily and want speed. Peat-free soil with slow amendments — fish, blood and bone, seaweed meal, rock phosphate — if you are not, and want flavour. Both suit this sativa; the deciding factor is your week, not the plant.

How does it handle the weather here? The open structure sheds heat and, more usefully, dries out quickly after rain. Wind is the real problem for a plant this shape — stake it properly before it needs it.

When does bloom feed start? Within a week of the first pistils. The 20/70 balance shifts demand quickly at the transition — phosphorus and potassium up, nitrogen down. Soil growers top-dress; coco and hydro switch formula immediately.

Tunnel, outdoors or indoors? A tunnel is the best value of the three here. Indoors you own the 8-10 weeks seed to harvest of bloom completely; outdoors the plant gets light no lamp matches and can reach 500-600 g/plant, and pays for it in rain. Flowering: 8-10 weeks seed to harvest. Indoor yield: 400-450 g/m2. Outdoor yield: 500-600 g/plant. Plant height: 1.5 m. Rated easy difficulty.

Acapulco Gold arrives in order. The first draw at 20% THC gives resin and green wood, clean rather than sweet. The creative, happy, energizing, focused character follows in minutes, as attention sharpening. Colour and sound both read busier, and conversation goes further afield than it otherwise would. It holds two to three hours without a spike. Limonene underneath contributes a lift that stops it going heavy.

Primary: Pinene · Secondary: Limonene · Tertiary: Caryophyllene. This is a combination that turns up repeatedly in cultivars people rate, and it is usually what gets commented on when a jar is opened for the first time after a proper cure. Pinene anchors it, limonene holds the middle, and caryophyllene sits behind both — the last of those being what separates this from other strains leading on the same terpene.

Who does well with Acapulco Gold? Back-garden and balcony growers in Dublin, Cork and Galway. Anyone who wants a crop dry and put away before the autumn closes in. Indoor growers short of headroom. The autoflowering genetics run to their own clock, so there is no schedule to manage and no anxiety about light leaks. Rated easy, which means a moderate learning curve that rewards attention without needing specialist kit.
