About Burmese Kush Feminised

Burmese Kush carries caryophyllene as its lead note: peppercorn and warm timber, dry rather than sweet, catching slightly at the back of the throat. Limonene sits beneath it and shows up second, sharp enough to stop the whole thing turning heavy. The plant tests at 15% THC across a 50/50 split, though what decides whether any of this reaches the jar is the cure, not the seed.

Growing it for aroma

Growing Burmese Kush for terpene expression and growing it for weight are not the same project, and it is worth deciding which one you are on. The Caryophyllene/Limonene/Myrcene profile does its best work in living soil, where the biology produces compounds a bottle does not contain. Good peat-free compost and worm castings are available in any garden centre here, which makes that approach far less specialist than it sounds.

Stop foliar spraying after the second week of bloom. Anything that lands on a developing trichome is still there at harvest and is tasted rather than seen. In the last three weeks the night temperature decides which terpenes lead: held at 16-18°C the caryophyllene comes forward, while a warmer finish protects the lighter myrcene notes.

Then the cure, which is where Irish growers lose most of what they built. A ten to fourteen day hang wants 17°C and something near 58% humidity, and the ambient air here will not supply either for most of the year — a closed room and a small dehumidifier will. Into glass afterwards, burped twice daily for a fortnight. The limonene layer arrives somewhere in weeks three and four, not before.

Flowering: 7-8 weeks. Indoor yield: 400 g/m2. Outdoor yield: 500 grams. Plant height: Short. Rated medium difficulty.

Flavour, aroma and effect

Burmese Kush arrives in order. The first draw at 15% THC gives peppercorn heat that lands at the back of the throat. The giggly, happy, relaxed character follows in minutes, as head and body together. Thinking stays clear while the muscles let go by degrees, which is what makes the dose, rather than the genetics, the thing that decides the evening. Limonene underneath contributes a lift that stops it going heavy.

Terpene breakdown

Primary: Caryophyllene · Secondary: Limonene · Tertiary: Myrcene. Temperature decides how much of this profile survives. Low vaporisation at 180-188°C keeps limonene and myrcene audible over the caryophyllene; run it hotter, or burn it, and all three collapse into one note that is pleasant enough and tells you nothing.

Who it suits

Who does well with Burmese Kush? Indoor growers who want to choose their own timeline. Tunnel growers who want to decide when flowering starts rather than letting August decide it. Anyone with the space to veg it properly first. Rated medium, which means a moderate learning curve that rewards attention without needing specialist kit.

Stabilisation Notes — What This Means for Your Grow

Three rounds of backcrossing to the parental line have welded the Burmese Kush cut into the population. The cross-derived trait balance that made the original mother famous now expresses across the whole pack — not just in one or two lucky phenos.

Breeding Goal

Reproduce the original Burmese Kush mother in pack-to-pack seed stock.

Selection Focus

Chosen for trichome density, bud structure and the hybrid trait balance the cross was engineered for.

Pollen / Mother Source

Royal King Genetics in-house mother stock — pollen taken from a sibling male drawn from the same selected pheno population.
