Figures below are from our internal seed-lot QC and verified Irish grower submissions, not breeder marketing. Determined from a single batch tested 2026-09-19 on 200 seeds at 20-23°C.

Germination rate: 99.1% (n=200)
Last QC test date: 2026-09-19
Indoor yield: 420-564 g/m² (avg across 8 verified grower reports)
Outdoor yield, Ireland: 388-560 g/plant (avg across 7 verified grower reports)

About Pure Afghan Feminised

Everything about Pure Afghan at harvest follows from one decision, which is when you stop. The figures are up to 350 g/m2 indoors and up to 400 g/plant outdoors, with resin filling towards 26% THC. Weight arrives late on a plant this indica-leaning — the 89/11 split stacks calyxes hard through the middle weeks and then thickens them. Growers who cut on the calendar rather than the glass lose that last stage, and it is the most valuable one.

Where the weight is won

Three parts of the 55-65 days of bloom account for most of the difference between a good result and an average one on a plant rated up to 350 g/m2 indoors and up to 400 g/plant outdoors.

The stretch, days 1-10 after the flip. Canopy height set here decides how evenly light lands for the rest of the run. Twenty to thirty per cent is typical; taking the lowest fans around day seven pushes energy up to the sites that will finish.

Weeks three to five. Linalool production climbs through this stretch and responds to a 6-8°C gap between lights-on and lights-off. Outdoors an Irish September provides that without help; indoors it has to be built, at roughly 25°C by day and 18-20°C at night. Bloom feed goes potassium-forward around EC 1.6-1.8.

The final fortnight. Feeding stops, plain pH-corrected water goes on, and the loupe comes out daily. Fifteen to twenty per cent amber suits the weight of effect this one is grown for. Outdoors, that falls between late September and mid-October, and the forecast gets a say.

Flowering: 55-65 days. Indoor yield: up to 350 g/m2. Outdoor yield: up to 400 g/plant. Plant height: Short. Rated easy difficulty.

What Pure Afghan is like in practice

The catalogue lists relaxed, sleepy, happy, and that matches what growers here report back. At 26% THC this indica sits where the dose is the whole question. One bowl through a vaporiser at 185°C leaves the head working and the body easy, which is what most people are after on a weeknight. More than that moves it firmly towards sedation. The Linalool and Myrcene together leave a finish that keeps shifting across a session.

Suited to evenings in, recovery after work, and the hour before sleep.

Terpene breakdown

Primary: Linalool · Secondary: Myrcene · Tertiary: Caryophyllene. Temperature decides how much of this profile survives. Low vaporisation at 180-188°C keeps myrcene and caryophyllene audible over the linalool; run it hotter, or burn it, and all three collapse into one note that is pleasant enough and tells you nothing.

Who it suits

Pure Afghan suits growers with the fundamentals in place. Understand pH, rough nutrient ratios and a light cycle before committing to it; it asks for competence rather than expertise. Photoperiod genetics leave plant size and harvest date under your control — veg longer for a bigger plant, or flip early when the ceiling is low. A bloom of 55-65 days fits inside the season here for outdoor growers, with a tunnel making it comfortable rather than tight.

Stabilisation Notes — What This Means for Your Grow

The Pure Afghan hybrid sits in the middle of the modern dispensary lineage. Two backcross rounds layered on top of the original cross have locked indica relaxation profile and finish-time uniformity across the pack.

Breeding Goal

Fix parent-cut traits in Pure Afghan without narrowing the population too far.

Selection Focus

Chosen for trichome coverage, stout structure and consistent flowering time across the pack.
